Consultant Marketing Is Easier With Greeting Cards

Referral Marketing That Works

As a consultant, marketing may be your least favorite task. But with greeting cards, referral marketing becomes a total breeze.

Most people don't enjoy selling themselves, but as a consultant you need to be almost constantly "on the hunt" for new clients and/or new assignments. Marketing is an essential part of your business plan.

consultant marketing with greeting cards

A super easy way to get your name in front of past and future clients is by initiating a greeting card campaign that you can duplicate over and over. Sending cards also makes referral marketing a near painless task.

Here are a few consultant marketing tips through greeting cards that you may be able to use after you join my team...

  • Follow up with your clients after you help them. Successful consultants get repeat business from satisfied clients. Of course, your first job is to provide high quality service. But beyond that, when you keep in touch with past clients by sending them greeting cards on a regular basis, they won't be able to forget you.

You could send a thank you card right after you complete a project (to thank them for their business and ensure satisfaction), another 3 months later ("just checking to see if everything is still going well with the project I did for you") and ("is there anything else I can do for you?"), and then at 3 to 6 month intervals. You could even ask them to pass your name on to their business associates.

  • Send simple thank you's. Try sending a thank you card at the completion of every project, no matter how small.

  • Follow up with prospects to convert them into clients. Once you've met a prospective client, send them a "nice to meet you" type card, followed by periodic reminders of what you can do for them.

  • Announce events, new services and other changes with your consulting business. If you've added a new line of consulting, new service, or some other kind of new product, announce it to your contact list with a custom greeting card. This is an easy and effective way to drum up new and repeat business.

These are just a few of the ways in which consultant marketing can be done effectively with greeting cards. You'll probably come up with many more. The thing about sending cards as a tool for referral marketing is... the more cards you send, the more ideas you'll have about how to use them! Feel free to share them with us, won't you?
